Bowfit Archery Exerciser Review

Many great archers today have a strength training program. Perhaps you have considered purchasing the Bowfit archery exerciser in order to improve your aim and draw strength. The Bowfit Archery Exerciser has been touted as being an excellent strength training device for archers so I decided to put it to the test.

The Bowfit Archery Exerciser is actually a very simple device. (Perhaps a bit overpriced since all it really is a resistance band with a handle.)

Here are some of the benefits of the Bowfit archery exerciser:

  • Portable – You can take this exerciser anywhere unfortunately, it is limited in the number of exercises that can be performed with it so don't expect much in the way of a total body workout.
  • Simulates Drawing the Bow – The only exercise that can be done… simulates drawing your bowstring. While the resistance level is great for beginners, you will need to purchase the Safari model in order to continue getting strength gains.
  • Low in Cost - The Bowfit archery exerciser sells for approximately $25. Compared to a good set of resistance bands it's actually not that cheap but it is inexpensive nevertheless (in comparison to a set of dumbbells or a home gym.)

Unfortunately, I was not that impressed with the Bowfit archery exerciser. One of the products that I feel is better is an isometric exerciser. There is one called the Bully Xtreme which is excellent. This isometric exerciser is great for anyone involved in bow hunting or archery.

Isometric exercise has been scientifically validated to have superior strength gains than other methods of working out. This device also sells for under $50 and allows you to get a complete body workout (over 82 exercises can be performed with this device.)

Another good choice is the Bodylastics resistance bands,  they are also a better fit for an archer than Bowfit. Although they sell for $45 ($20 more than the Bowfit exerciser), you can work out all of your shoulder muscles, back muscles arms and chest (similar to the Bully Xtreme.)

Therefore, if you are thinking about getting a Bowfit Archery Exerciser please try one of these two other products first. In our opinion, they are superior to the Bowfit Archery Exerciser.
